Derek Prince (1915–2003) was a highly respected international Bible teacher, author, pastor, missionary, and theologian. Born in British India on August 14, 1915, he studied Greek, Latin, and philosophy at Eton and Cambridge—briefly rejecting Christianity in favor of atheism. During World War II, while serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps, he experienced a profound conversion to Christianity in Yorkshire in 1941, dramatically reshaping his life and future ministry .
He authored over 100 books on topics like spiritual warfare, prayer, and Christian living, with his teachings—a blend of sound theology and scriptural depth—translated into more than 100 languages . After the war, he married Lydia Christensen in 1946, ministering together in Jerusalem, London, and Kenya; later, he married Ruth Baker in 1978 and launched the influential radio program Today with Derek Prince.
In 1971, Prince established Derek Prince Publications in Fort Lauderdale, later renamed Derek Prince Ministries, which today spans over 45 countries . He passed away in Jerusalem at age 88 on September 24, 2003, leaving a lasting legacy as one of the 20th century’s most influential Bible teachers .
